Hello, I'm Benny!

I'm the proud Founder and Producer of Konvict Jerky: Flavourable Craft Biltong.  When putting this site together, I had someone ask me "What does your business mean to you?" and when I truly thought about my WHY behind this product this is what came through;

"Our customers are like family, and Konvict Jerky is a way of providing our family a clean, nutritious and beneficial product for everyone to share and enjoy."

I would love to share a little bit about how this journey really began for me, and how Konvict Jerky was truly born.

My Story

Let’s flashback to 2021. I was 128kg. I was unhappy and felt sluggish and disconnected from life. I decided to go on the carnivore diet in an attempt to change my lifestyle for the better.

 

After about 3 - 4 months of eating plain but seasoned steak, I was finding the next meat meal unendurable.

 

So I turned to store bought jerky, biltong etc to make my meat eating experience more enjoyable. One day whilst consuming store bought products, I flipped over the packet and was shocked as I read the excessive amount of GMOs, numbers, excessive sugars and others of the like.

 

Ultimately I was going down this path for health, and eating these products wasn’t going to give me that.  So, I thought I would have a crack at making it myself - except I would produce a far cleaner, far superior version. Of which ultimately, I did.

 

And then whenever friends or family in particular heard about what I was up to, they all wanted to try each new creation as soon as it popped up. Some would even offer to buy.

 

At that point, I couldn’t even produce enough for myself let alone anyone else - and thus the expansion and Konvict Jerky journey began.

 

Fast foward 2 years later, Konvict Jerky is in full commercial swing, and I am 48kg lighter - and a hell of a lot happier.
